Project 5 Idea

For my open project I'd like to take this unfinished drawing that I've been working on and finish it/color it with images digitally.

This is another drawing which I colored digitally, so my finished product will look similar to this.

  1. Very Beautiful line work on this piece. I'm getting some nostalgia for Lord Of the Rings and the beauty of Rivendell. My question would be; what color pallet would you be looking to use (Personally something pastel and soft would resonate well with my eyes), what program would you use to do this, and do you plan on adding more graphite before colorizing or work with what you have?

  2. Will there be any people included in this print? I feel like there is still a good bit of open space. I think it will be fun to scan it in and be able to play around with color. I really enjoy this style of art.

  3. First off, it is beautifully done and I would suggest to be careful with the coloring of it because it could take away some of the line work you already done. It does have that LOTR feel so maybe play around with that medieval aesthetic. Anyways now all of our expectations are high so gotta deliver.

  4. I really like your idea and think this drawing would really cool digitally altered. Have you considered adding some form of digital line work as well using illustrator or different photoshop brushes?

  5. wow this piece is beautiful, I can't wait to see it in color! I think layering the image over itself or mirroring it could also create some really interesting forms.

  6. These are beautiful! I think that using very stark colors and shading would give it lots of drama and depth.

  7. Awesome idea. Love the atmosphere you've created. I really enjoy the sparseness of the original drawing so I would recommend you don't overdo it with highly saturated colors. A muted color palette would suite the work quite well. Keep it up!

  8. Really dig the style. I think combining traditional mediums with digital elements is a really great way to make a unique looking piece. Maybe take a look at some old architecture books that use a similar inking style to get some inspiration for a color pallet.

  11. The concept is already compelling with some details and fantasy/historical feelings. I can see this successfully forming the core of a very aesthetically pleasing piece.
